Amazing place to go and visit. Being from England we never get to learn about all the different cultures of this part of the world. It’s amazing to see how the people live and it really is inspiring.A bonus is the best tasting sweetcorn you’ll ever have! The show is brilliant too! Real powerful voices and energy! We had a brilliant time! Thanks to all at the living village!

The Flying Fox, Retreat Accommodation on the Whanganui River
My partner and i booked a canoe package in tui - the tiny house - we had a perfect stay - i must mention that i was impressed at how imaculately clean the place is for an eco sanctury - not a spider in sight indoors - that's impressive! , we didn't get to do the canoe trip because of the weather so we did the river road by car instead , We had a bit of catering in our package too breakfast and a packed lunch - we were so impressed with all the food , it was so fresh and tasted beautiful because they grow everything themselves including making the jams for breakfast and the portion size is humungous , so worth spending the little extra money to get that service - was a lovley treat, Such amazing host's were really friendly welcoming and had some great advice on hotspots to visit along the river , they have some very interesting and entertaining photo's , really made us feel welcome and we didn't want to leave.... i managed to capture a picture of a deer grazing from the kitchen window of our accomodations , it was such an amazing special place , we will be back for sure.

What a great tour with Marie today. While all those cruise ship tourists clogged the Main Street of Akaroa we were off seeing famous Maori battle sites, learning about Mana and how the English gazumped the French . To top that we heard of Marie’s dreams of restoring the land for generations to come( at least 7)Such a pleasure , thank you Marie Cheers Elizabeth and Greg

Marie provided an in-depth tour of Akaroa's history from a geological and cultural perspective while visiting important landmarks over nearly four engrossing hours.Since its complex volcanic formation millions of years ago, the Banks Peninsula has been significantly influenced by successive waves of human migration and interaction over the past 700 years, beginning with Maori settlement and conflict since the 13th Century.Marie presented the interwoven stories of Maori, French, English, and Australian settlers in a fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable way.Included a nice cup of tea and freshly baked scone at a beautiful spot overlooking Akaroa.Highly recommended.

WOW, a wonderful amazing unique stay. I surprised my partner with the canoe package, it was absolutely perfect gift for his birthday. Kelly and Jane are excellent hosts, who made our stay an awesome experience. Great hospitality, delicious food and wonderful sleeps in the Gypsy Cart. Plus the canoeing down the Whanganui River was relaxing, enjoyable and it was wonderful to see the river and the surrounding land at a leisurely pace. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Whakarewarewa - The Living Maori Village
Highly recommend. The performance was fantastic and worth watching. It gave a great insight into the Māori culture. The walking tour - Our guide Phillip was very knowledgeable and lovely. He had funny jokes throughout the tour but finished by personally singing us all a song as a kind of blessing to wish us all well. It touched my heart and I hope other people get to experience his tours as they were entertaining but very sweet at the same time.
