The McPhail family operates a boutique orchard on the south side of Napier city in Hawkes Bay. We operate a gate sales shop during the harvest season and also offer free-flow frozen berries and Pick Your Own Raspberries, Black and Red Currants, Gooseberries, Boysenberries, Tayberries, Blackberries and Autumn Raspberries.

Juicy New Zealand Strawberries
We stopped by on the way back from Muriwai. We wanted some ice cream as a treat for walking around for a couple of hours.They have homemade gelato as well as fresh fruit ice cream or yoghurt. It seems like they only had strawberry as an option for the fresh fruit ice cream. The gelatos were scooped at the front after paying but we had to wait for the fresh strawberry ice cream since there was a line for it. I went with the mandarin sorbet. It was sweet and a bit sour but had a strong mandarin flavour. They also had an apple sorbet which sounds interesting.They have a fairly large outdoor seating area on the side where they hand out the strawberry ice cream. it was shaded and a nice place to enjoy the frozen treats. It was a nice place to stop by for some sweet dessert on a hot day.

A great place to shop for all your vegies and fruits and pick up a real fruit ice cream!! Pick of the crop for sure. Deliveries to Auckland available. Staff are super friendly. Online ordering available also. Well worth a visit.

Is the trading name of horticulture and Food research institute of new zealand. Their staff members are friendly and knowledgeable, and they'll happily answer your questions and share their knowledge on their specialty field. Their car park is quite big though only have limited amount of spaces for visitors.

Delicious ice cream, the mango, the strawberry and cheese cake flavors were all phenomenal, the chocolate brownie flavor was good but you're missing out by skipping the fruit flavours
