My friend and I loved the chocolate and the tour. For the price of the tour you get a guided tasting that really demonstrates the differences between industrial chocolate and single origin, no slave labor made chocolate with unique flavors. Plus you go home with a delicious bar of chocolate. Make this a stop while you’re in Dunedin!

We booked an afternoon high tea experience at Morningside's glasshouse, which was great. High tea contains a few of savory and a collection of sweets, and we really enjoyed the food. We could choose any drink except the specialty drinks from the menu. Hot chocolate is amazing, and we highly recommend the one with hazelnut praline. The only thing is that we came on a rainy day and the glasshouse was a bit leaking. There were drips falling from the roof behind the chair in the corner. Other than that, the service was great as the staff was welcoming and kind.

Have just tried the newly released Hazellena. Karimi milk chocolate with a Gianduja (chocolate and hazelnut paste) filling. Yum yum, chocolate and hazelnut. Love their hazelnut milk chocolate. A relationship made in heaven. Hazellena … what could possibly go wrong? Don’t know, really. But Whittaker’s seem to have nailed “wrong” 100%. A gluggy sickly concoction with little, if any, hazelnut taste. Chocolate, very subjective. Be conservative with your first purchase amount until you’ve ascertained if it’s “right for you”. Now let’s see. Wonder if it’s worth putting four unopened Hazellena blocks on Trade Me.

Went Whittaker's today to inquire and was absolutely blown away by the service! The young lady at reception, didn’t get a chance to grab her name but she served me with absolute class and top tier customer service. I sometimes struggle with English and the young lady was able to speak to me not only in English but Samoan and Tokelauan. I was blown away and felt so warm at heart. Thank you very much Whittakers ❤️

Such a cute little space. We had the high tea, delicious selection of sweets, a couple savory, pastries and buns. We sat in like a glass garden shed, which was cool however it did get a bit humid, so I suggest opening the slide door.

Silky Oak Chocolates
Silky Oak Chocolate Co. Chocolate Fudge Cafe Museum Gifts offers an amazing pantry, a souvenir shop, a museum which chronicles the history of chocolates, and an awesome cafeThis place is insane! The parking is good. All the staff are very friendly, and the cake and coffee at the cafe is top notch. The pantry makes me feel like a kid.. well, in a candy shop. The chocolates and fudge is amazing! There are lots of odds and ends that will make great gifts, even of you're buying for yourself. The museum was very interesting. I can't believe that arsenic was one of the ingredients that used to go in chocolate.Absolutely indulge yourself by visiting all three shops. It's a great way to spend a few hours
