Good staff and calm atmosphere

Bit sad that there wasn't a sign saying that there was another entrance further on past the first entrance which was closed yesterday.

We had a terrible experience with my sisters funeral here. The Christian" minister Graham Harvey who presided over the funeral gossiped to his deranged sister about my family and she sent me several abusive emails a week after her funeral while I was grieving!?? She confirmed in the emails that "Minister" Harvey (her brother) had given her all the details/slander. I approached the funeral home about this and they apologised but did nothing and said it was out of their hands?? They could have taken SOME action to make sure this lunacy and unprofessionalism doesn't happen to other grieving families. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as they unable to provide any privacy and dignity for grieving families."

This was once the dead centre of town. Now it is the Dunedin northern cemetery. Thomas Bracken is laid to rest here. Trivia - can you find the newest gravesite? There are some here who were laid to rest past the year 2000.

Quite a large cemetery that is divided into sections. Each section has a different burial types. Be wary that the road is generally one way since its fairy tight particularly with cars parked on the side. The main office is out front with the chapel.

Eileen thank youI now live in Australia, my only brother died in 1966, buried at NewStead Cemetery, I asked can I have a photo or his headstone, thinking hello this is the council, they will be too busy for my request, they said we will get back to you in one day, okay, still not confident,NEXT DAY, I got the picture of headstone, the surroundings, it was just amazing, Eileen you took time out for me, I will always be grateful, if this worked, I plan to get the head stone re done, but no need, as Eileen rightly commented, it looked great, hey 50 yrs.Aren't I lucky

I love visiting the Rose garden and the crematorium wall, my wife's ashes are in the rose garden, such a beautiful and tranquil place, my mother and grand mother are in the Crematorium wall, the cemetery is well maintain with easy access and staff are present to answer your enquiries, I have a plaque for my late wife on the granite book (main entrance) ❤️

It's hard to grieve when you're running for your life. From swine. Also, there's more pigs than people buried here.
