Found a career on second floor at 3pm lying down on the patient lounge couch chatting on her phone. Lovely.! Even if your shift finishes in 1/2 he you could be doing a residence nails or chatting to them. Shame on you.2 days on what an amazing response from Awatere manager Cushla. Severerly understaffed, the place is neglected and so are the residents.. they sit in soiled nappies for days on end, killing their dignity. Send ya loved ones elsewhere they deserve better than this for profit cash cow instutution.

Flaxmore provides excellent care of our mother. She is so happy there and the staff are so caring that she thinks she lives in a hotel! Flaxmore is not the newest care facility in town but what it lacks in flash furnishings is more than made up for by the personal care and respect provided by the staff and having had experience of both we are well qualified to compare. The grounds are beautifully kept and the meals nutritious. The recreation staff kept the residents well occupied and stimulated with a variety of crafts, events, celebrations and outings. We regularly receive photos of our mother enjoying an activity.

Very poor management needs better trained staff.

Having been a resident in the village now since February 2017, I have found that there have been some improvements since Heritage took over the ownership of the Village and Rest-home from the previous owners in October 2018.The Village Residents are a very friendly group of people who are happy to call the place HOME" We are welcome to participate in all activitiesat the Rest-home. Some of us make use of the dinning Room to have regular meals. During the COVID-19 Lock Down periods they even delivered meal to us

in my experience this resthome is incredibly 'on to it' with my mother's care. Management and clinical staff are very easy to communicate with which makes a huge difference
